Ok, sorry about not updating for awhile, but we are having too much fun!! Here is an update of what's been happening:
We left for the states on Wednesday, November 29th. The flight was great! Ilkan is such a good baby. The plane was only about half full, so the 3 of us got a row of 4 seats. It was great because we got to bring the car seat on the 13 hour flight from Istanbul-Chicago. When we got to Chicago we had problems because a snow and ice storm in KC caused our flight and lots of others to be cancelled. Instead of waiting and maybe getting out the following day, we took a flight to Omaha. (Probably a good decision as the snow and ice caused everything from Chicago to be cancelled from Thursday-Friday.) So, we went to Omaha for a day then on to Maryville and then KC for the weekend. We spent Friday night-Sunday noon with friends from college. Then we were back to Omaha for dinner/Christmas with my Dad's family. On Tuesday, December 5 we went to visit my Great-Grandma Witt (dad's side) and have a 5 generation picture taken. On Thursday some family and friends had a baby shower for us. It was lots of fun and we got tons of clothes, toys, and other gifts for Ilkan. It was wonderful, but Kaan had a heck of a time packing it all up. On Friday morning, December 8 we left with Mom and Gregg for McCook, NE to visit Mom's side of the family. All of her relatives came in for the weekend. We had another 5 generation picture taken, this time with Mom's side. On Sunday, December 10 we headed back to Omaha and on Tuesday the 12th we flew out to Florida. Now we are chilling with Mom and Gregg. Ilkan is doing great adjusting to being in so many places. It only took him 3 days to adjust to the time difference! Gregg's daughters are flying in from Omaha on Wednesday to spend Christmas here. We are all leaving on Thursday to go to Orlando for 4 days and then back for Christmas. We'll let you know more when things happen!
