Eulogy to Maia

It's been a sad day for the Ozdemir family. We lost our beloved Maia this morning. We received a phone call around 9:30 from Kaan's father saying that Maia had collapsed and was really ill. We immediately phoned our vet, who conveniently lives nearby, and rushed with him to the house. She died shortly after we arrived. The vet thinks she had liver failure due to an increase in her blood sugar, but there was no time for him to do anything to help her. We were just happy that we got to say goodbye and that she didn't suffer for long.

Maia lived a very exciting 7 years. In her time she saw many places, more than a lot of people get to see in their lives. She lived in Maryville, Olathe, and Turkey. She visited Omaha and Branson, went camping and canoeing in Bennet Springs, drove from Omaha to Chicago, and flew through Istanbul. She was a wonderful companion, incredibly smart, and great with kids. We are just sad that Ilkan didn't get to know her. She'll live forever in our hearts and memories.

I'll miss you too Maia. My wrestling skills will most certainly vanish now.
